MARLIN is pleased to announce that Xavier Falconi, PE joined MARLIN as Transportation Planning Manager in its West Palm Beach office. Xavier comes to MARLIN with more than 27 years of experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, as well as funding, planning and design of multimodal transportation systems. Before joining MARLIN, Xavier served as the City of Delray Beach Transportation Program Manager leading the operation of the city’s multimodal transportation network including the Complete Streets Program. Prior to Delay Beach, Xavier worked for eight years for the City of Miami Beach where he was instrumental in developing the city’s Bike Share Program (the first in Florida), managed the update of the Transportation Element as well as the Bicycle Master Plan, and actively participated in the development of the Transportation Master Plan. Before relocating to Miami Beach in 2008, Xavier lived in Portland where he worked for the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), the City of Portland, other public and private organizations, including managing his own consulting practice for over a decade. He co-authored the ODOT Access Management Manual and further was a member of the Transportation Research Board Committee that developed the first National Access Management Manual.
Xavier received his Civil Engineering degree from Portland State University, is a registered professional engineer in Florida and a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers. As Miami Beach resident and appointed by the Mayor, he served as the Vice Chair of the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee, in addition to recently representing the City of Delray Beach as Vice Chair of the Technical Advisory Committee for the Palm Beach Transportation Planning Agency (TPA). During the February 2018 Safe Streets Summit, Xavier proudly accepted the Palm Beach TPA “Complete Streets Community Award” on behalf of the City of Delray Beach.
